Shyama India Hospital & Shyama Eye Care

This is our place in Gilat Bazar, Varanasi. It’s on the way to the airport in Shivpur. We are right near Sant Atulanand School. It’s a busy area with a lot of noise from the road, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We do general hospital work and we have a specific part for eyes too. A lot of people come in because their vision isn't what it used to be. Or they just need a check-up. We aren't a massive five-star hospital. It’s a local place for local people. We have some beds and a few machines, but mostly it’s about the staff helping out. Varanasi is a crowded city and we try to provide a spot where people can get looked at without too much trouble. Sometimes it gets really hectic when there’s a lot of walk-ins. We do our best to manage. The building is S-8/34, 2K if you’re looking at the numbers. Most people just know us as the place near the school. We’ve seen many kids from that school grow up and now they bring their own parents here. It’s a good feeling to be part of the community like that. We don't have fancy brochures or anything. We just open the doors and help whoever is waiting. It’s honest work and we plan to keep it that way for the folks here in Shivpur. We just take things one day at a time.
