Shri Beauty Parlour & Training Centre

Shri Beauty Parlour & Training Centre is located at D-60/51 in the Krishnapuri area of Varanasi. It is a quiet enough street compared to the main ghats, but we stay pretty busy most days. Like the name says, we do the regular parlour services but we also teach others. There are always a few students around the shop learning how to handle a thread or how to apply henna properly. It makes the place feel a bit like a classroom sometimes. We started this because there was a need for a place where local girls could learn a real skill. The parlour itself is very basic. We have the usual mirrors and chairs. We do not spend money on fancy decorations because we would rather keep the prices fair for the neighbors who come here. Krishnapuri is a nice place to work. You see the same people walking by every day. We do bridal makeup too, which gets really hectic during the wedding season. Sometimes we are here until midnight getting everyone ready. It is a lot of standing and talking, but it is good work. We do not have a website or anything like that. Most people just walk in because they saw the sign or heard about us from someone else in Varanasi. We just try to be helpful and do the job right. It is a small, honest business. (254 words)
