Shine Gloa Ladies Beauty Parlour

Shine Gloa is located at A-5/81 on the Kashi Station Road in Varanasi. This area near Mukeemganj is always full of people and noise, which I like. The parlour is a small space we fixed up to help the local women with their beauty needs. Being so close to the station means we get people who are just passing through sometimes, but mostly it is the neighbors. We do everything from eyebrow threading to bridal makeup. The shop has a big window but we have curtains for privacy. I keep a lot of different bindi packs and hair pins because you never know what someone might need at the last minute. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving the chairs around, but the place is clean. We use water from the local supply and we have a small tank for when it runs out. Varanasi is very hot, so the ceiling fan is always running on full speed to keep us cool. I usually have a helper with me to do the hair washing while I handle the cutting. We don't have a computer or anything, just a notebook where I write down what we earned each day. It is a lot of hard work standing on your feet all day, but seeing the ladies happy with their look makes it worth it. If you are near Kashi station, you can find us easily.
