You can find us over on Pahariya Pandeypur Road in Varanasi. We are situated really close to the Sabji Mandi, so there is always the smell of fresh vegetables and the sound of people bargaining right outside our door. Shilpa Ayurved And Panchkarm Hospital is a place where we do things the traditional way, mostly because that is what people here expect from us. The building is an older one, but it serves us well enough for the treatments we do every day. During the monsoon, the road outside gets a bit muddy, but patients still make their way here somehow. We have a few rooms for the panchkarm therapies and a small area where I talk to people about their health. It is not a silent place by any means, given the Varanasi traffic and the market nearby. We go through a lot of oils and herbs every week. My family helps out sometimes with the administrative stuff because there is always a lot to keep track of. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in big ledgers. People come in, they wait their turn, and we see them. It is just a regular part of life in the Pahariya area. We try to keep things honest and just help folks get back on their feet using what we know about ayurveda. It's hard work but it feels right.
