Sanjay Hair Cutting Saloon

Sanjay Hair Cutting Saloon sits on the main road in Bisheshwarganj. Being in this part of Varanasi means there is always a lot of noise from the traffic outside. Our shop is right in the middle of all that movement. We have been in this spot a long time, back when the road was much quieter than it is today. Now, the bikes and rickshaws never seem to stop. Inside the shop, it is a bit quieter than the street. We have the usual stuff like combs, scissors, and a couple of spray bottles for water. The chairs have seen better days, and the leather is cracked in places, but they are comfortable enough for a twenty-minute sit. We get many workers coming in after their shift ends in the evening. They usually just want a quick trim and maybe a head massage to relax before going home. We try to keep the towels clean, though they get stained with hair dye sometimes. The walls used to be a bright blue, but now they are more of a pale grey. We haven't really thought about painting them again recently. People do not come here for the decorations anyway. They come because they know the guys here will do a decent job without any fuss. Sometimes a tourist wanders in by mistake, and we do our best to understand. We open early and close when the last person leaves.
