Prateek Hospital

This hospital is situated on B.h.u Rd over by the DLW area. It’s a place that stays fairly busy because of where it’s located. The building has several floors, and the stairs are a bit narrow, so we always tell people to watch their step. We’ve got a lot of windows that look out toward the road. You can see the people going about their business at DLW from the upper rooms. Inside Prateek Hospital, the air feels a bit cooler than it does outside. We have several different sections for different needs, and the hallways can get confusing for new people. We try to point them in the right direction when we see them looking lost. The reception area has a counter that’s been there for years. We keep our schedules taped to the wall behind it. The staff is mostly from the surrounding neighborhoods, so we see a lot of familiar faces. It’s not a quiet place, there is always the sound of voices or equipment or someone walking down the hall. We don’t have a big cafeteria, just a small corner where you can get some water. The goal every day is just to handle the cases that come to us. We stay open pretty late most nights. It’s a lot of standing and walking around. The work is steady and the days go by fast on BHU road. It’s a real part of the community here.
