Pranjal Hair Cut Saloon

Pranjal Hair Cut Saloon is at Shop Number 2 on the Main Road in Sarnath. We are located right in front of the Budh Mandir in Dharampal Market. This is a very busy and spiritual part of Varanasi. We get a lot of local residents and sometimes even some pilgrims who need a quick haircut while they are visiting. The shop itself is very basic. We have the usual barber chairs and a few jars of hair cream and oil on the shelf. I have been cutting hair since I was a young boy. It is the only work I really know how to do well. We don't have any air conditioning here, just the breeze that comes through the door and a couple of ceiling fans. It gets very hot in Varanasi during the summer months, but most people are used to it. We try to keep our prices low because we want everyone in the neighborhood to be able to afford a haircut. Sometimes the guy from the tea stall brings us some hot chai while we are waiting for the next customer to walk in. Having a view of the temple from our front door is nice. We don't do any fancy or modern styles, just the regular cuts that people ask for. It is a small life but it is a good one for us. We open early in the morning and close when the sun goes down.
