Minaz Collection Boutique

Minaz Collection Boutique is a small place located in Laxminiwas on Chetganj Road. We are situated right in front of the Chetganj Thana, so it is a very safe and easy spot to find in Varanasi. I spend most of my day surrounded by piles of fabric and different colors of thread. It is a bit of a mess sometimes but I know where everything is. Women from all over the neighborhood bring their suit pieces and sarees here to get blouses stitched or for some alterations. I have a couple of sewing machines that are almost always running. The sound of the machines is like background music to me now. Sometimes I get busy with wedding orders and the shop gets filled with heavy lehengas and sparkly materials. I try to get everything done on time but sometimes the electricity goes or a machine breaks down and things get delayed. I don't use any big machines or fancy computers to design things. I just use a measuring tape and a piece of chalk. People like that I listen to exactly how they want their clothes to fit. It is a lot of sitting and bending over the fabric which makes my back ache by the end of the day, but I enjoy seeing the finished dress. It is a simple boutique for local people. I usually finish my work and clean the floor before leaving for the day.
