Max Well Hospital

Max Well Hospital is located in Dafi on NH 2 in Varanasi. We are situated right near the Toll Tax Plaza, which is a major landmark around here. Being so close to the highway means there’s always a lot of heavy traffic and the sound of trucks rumbling past. The building is easy to spot from the road. Inside, it’s a bit of a contrast to the dusty highway outside. We try to keep it cool and quiet, though that’s hard when the hospital is full. The lobby has several rows of benches that are usually occupied by families waiting. We have a small desk for registrations that stays busy most of the day. Varanasi is a busy city, and being on the outskirts near the toll means we get people coming in from all over the surrounding areas. The staff here is mostly local, so we talk a lot about the local news and the weather during our breaks. The hallways are long and have that specific hospital smell. We have a few plants near the entrance that we try to keep alive, but they don't always get enough sun. It’s a practical place, built to handle a lot of people every day. We don’t have any fancy decorations, just the necessary equipment and rooms. It’s a long day for everyone working here, but we are used to the rhythm of the place and the constant flow of traffic from the NH 2.
