Mahajan Carpets

We are over in Lohta. It’s a place where you hear the sounds of work all day long. Mahajan Carpets isn't some high-rise office; it’s more of a ground-level reality. The air usually has that smell of wool and dye. We spend our hours looking at patterns and making sure the threads are holding up. It gets dusty, and the floors are rarely clean for more than an hour. That's just part of the job when you're dealing with carpets. We've been at Po. Lohta for a good while. Some of the folks working here have kids who now work here too. It’s that kind of place. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of the carpets are just stacked up, waiting to go where they need to go. Sometimes the colors aren't exactly what was expected, so we have to fix things on the fly. It's a lot of manual labor. Your back hurts by the end of the week, but then you see a finished piece and it feels okay. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making carpets like they’ve been made around here for ages. The tea stalls nearby get a lot of our business during breaks. It’s a simple life in Lohta, focused on the looms and the yarn. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way. The radio is usually playing in the background to keep everyone's spirits up.
