To get to us, you have to navigate some of the local roads which can be quite busy with scooters and cycles. Once you get inside, it’s a bit quieter. We have a small area set up with some basic furniture. It isn’t a high-tech office with shiny surfaces. It’s more like a place where you sit down and have a real conversation. The walls have a few calendars on them, and there’s usually a fan humming in the corner to keep the air moving during the heat of the day. It’s a bit humble, but it serves us well for what we do. We like being in this part of the city because it feels connected to the real life of the people here in Uttar Pradesh. It’s not tucked away in some sterile business park. It’s right there in the middle of everything, which is exactly how we like it. Sometimes we have to move the chairs around to make room for visitors, but we always manage to fit everyone in for a talk and some water.
