Rainbow House

Rainbow House is located at B23/62-5B in Khojawa Bazar. If you’ve ever been to this part of the bazaar, you know how tight the lanes are and how many people are always walking by. We have a lot of items packed into our small space, mostly things for the home. I start my day early by opening the metal shutters and putting a few of our brighter items out front. The name Rainbow House comes from all the different colors we have inside. The building is quite old and the ceiling is low, which makes it feel a bit cramped when there are more than three customers. I know most of the people who live in the apartments upstairs. We’ve been at this address for many years now. The floor is made of old stone that stays cold even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or two in the afternoon, so we just keep the door open for light. I spend a lot of time organizing the shelves because things get messy quickly. I don't use a computer for my accounts, just a big ledger book that is starting to fall apart at the edges. The street noise is constant, with bells and shouting, but I’m used to it by now. I usually have a small radio playing some old songs. We don't do any big promotions. We just try to have what people are looking for when they stop in. It’s a busy life here in the bazaar.
