Jansri Lokhit Federation

You can find us over at SA3/43-Achhota Lalpur. It’s in the Pandeypur area of Varanasi. This city is always moving, but our spot is tucked away a little bit. We are a federation that looks after local interests. It’s mostly just us trying to keep things organized for the people who live nearby. The building we are in is an older one. It has those thick walls that stay cool even when it’s boiling outside. We spend our days sitting around the main table talking through whatever issues come up. There’s always someone coming in with a question or a piece of paper that needs looking at. We do our best to help them out. Varanasi is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business, so we don't need much advertising. People just show up at the door. We have tea together and figure things out. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We wear regular clothes and use old pens. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or work by the window light. It’s practical work for practical people. We've been at this address for a good while. The neighbors are used to seeing us coming and going. We don’t make much noise. We just do the work that needs doing every day without making a big deal out of it. It’s a simple life for us here in 221002.
