Jankalyanam Micro Benefit Foundation

Our office is located at H No. SA 19/15-1 in Mahaveer Nagar Colony, which is in the Sona Talab area of Sarnath, Varanasi. It is quite a long address, but it basically means we are tucked away in a quiet residential colony near the Tapovan Ashram in Daniyalpur. The pin code here is 221007. Sarnath is a famous place, but our little corner is just a regular neighborhood. The foundation operates out of a building that looks like any other house on the street. Inside, we have set up some basic office furniture and filing cabinets. It is a bit cramped sometimes when everyone is in at once, but we make it work. We don't have a fancy lobby or a coffee machine. We just have a small stove in the back for making chai. The sounds of the colony—kids playing or someone calling out for a vendor—are part of our daily background. We focus on the tasks at hand, which usually involves a lot of reading and writing. The air in Sarnath feels a bit different than the main city of Varanasi, maybe a little calmer. We like being based here. We don't put on any airs or act like we are a big corporation. We are just a group of people working in a house in Mahaveer Nagar, trying to stay on top of our responsibilities and keeping the foundation running as it should be.
