You can find us on English Line, right on the Station Road in Varanasi. Since we are so close to the station, we see a lot of different people. Some are just passing through the city and need something for their journey, while others have lived here their whole lives. Jaiswal Girhasti Store is where you go for your everyday household needs. We’ve got flour, spices, soaps, and all that stuff you need to keep a house running. It’s a busy area, lots of rickshaws and people shouting, but inside the shop, it’s a bit more manageable. I’ve been working here for years, and I’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot. The road used to be narrower, I think. We keep the shop open pretty late because of the trains. My brother and I take turns behind the counter. It’s hard work, especially when the big bags of grain arrive and we have to stack them up. We don't have a big fancy website or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here at number 21/72 for a long time. People know they can find us. We don't promise anything crazy, we just sell what we have and try to be helpful when someone can't find the right brand of tea. It’s just a honest way to earn a living in this old city. No big story, just a shop by the station.
