Hai Fai Hair Cutting Saloon

Hai Fai Hair Cutting Saloon is my small shop in Khojwa Bazar, Varanasi. I have been sitting in this same spot for quite a while now. The bazar is always noisy with people buying vegetables and bikes honking, but inside the shop, it is just the sound of my scissors. It is a simple place with a couple of old chairs and mirrors that have seen better days. I don't think you need anything fancy to give a man a good haircut. Most of my customers are people who live right here in Khojwa or work in the nearby stalls. They come in, we talk about the weather or how the local cricket team is doing, and I get to work. Sometimes kids come in for their first haircut and they cry a bit, which makes things a little hectic, but we manage. I keep the floor swept as much as possible, though hair gets everywhere by midday. Varanasi gets really hot in the summer, so the ceiling fan is always going as fast as it can. I don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where I am. If someone is happy with their shave and pays a fair price, that is enough for me. It is just a regular life here in the market, doing the same thing every day and seeing the same faces. It suits me just fine.
