You can find us at J-12/15 near the Ramkatora Chauraha. We are quite close to Annapurna Sweets, which is handy because I usually get my tea from there in the afternoons. This place is a bit of a mix. I do boutique work, so there are always pieces of cloth and thread lying around the cutting table. But we also have the salon side for hair and makeup. It gets a bit crowded with the sewing machines on one side and the styling chairs on the other. Lahurabir is a busy part of Varanasi, so there is always someone coming in to ask about a blouse fitting or to get a quick hair trim. Sometimes I'm busy with a needle and thread and have to ask a customer to wait five minutes for their threading. It’s just me and a couple of helpers most days. The walls have pictures of different dress designs we've made over the years. Some are a bit faded now. We have a mirror that's slightly cracked at the edge, but it still works fine. People like that they can get their outfit fixed and their hair done in the same visit. It saves them a trip across town. The shop smells like a mix of hair spray and new fabric. It’s a practical setup for the women around here who need things done quickly without any fuss.
