Gds Helping Hands Associations

Varanasi is a very old and busy city, but our little corner in Yognagar is relatively calm. We are a small group of friends and neighbors who started this association. Our office is just a few rooms in a regular building. We don't have a reception desk or anyone in a suit. Most days, you’ll find us sitting around a big table with a lot of papers and tea. We aren't a big organization with a lot of money. We just try to help out whenever someone in the colony or nearby needs something. It’s very informal work. We don’t have many rules about how things should be done. We just talk about the problem and try to find a solution. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to do, and other times it’s pretty quiet. We’ve lived in Varanasi a long time, so we know the local issues well. We don’t use any marketing talk or try to sound more important than we are. We’re just a helping hand in the community. It’s not always perfect, and we don’t always have the answers, but we try. That’s the main thing for us. Being in Bank Colony feels like home, and we like it that way.
