C H C Hospital

We are located in Handia, right by the side of the main highway. It’s a very visible spot, and you can’t miss the building if you are driving through. The sound of the heavy trucks and long-distance buses is something we hear all day long. It’s a practical building designed for medical work, nothing more and nothing less. We have the emergency area near the front and the regular wards further back where it’s a bit quieter. The floors are made of simple cement and the walls are painted a plain white that we try to keep clean. It gets very dusty because of the highway traffic, so we have to wipe down the benches and tables constantly. There is a small tea stall just a few steps away where the staff and the visitors often go for a break. We don't have fancy computer systems, so most of our work is done with paper registers and hand-written notes. The heat in this part of the country can be intense, and the building gets quite warm in the afternoons. We have some trees around the perimeter that provide a little bit of shade for the parked motorcycles. It’s a very basic setup, but it’s what the people around here need. Most of our staff live in the nearby villages and they walk or bike to work every morning. It’s just an ordinary hospital serving its local community.
