Bandhan Beauty Parlour

Our shop, Bandhan Beauty Parlour, is in Chandpur, Varanasi. We are situated near the Maa Sarswati School, so the area is often full of kids and parents during the morning and afternoon hours. The shop is a simple room that we have set up with a few chairs and mirrors for the beauty work. It is not a very large space, but it is enough for what we do. We have some shelves where we keep the shampoos and the threads. The walls are a plain color, and there is a small window at the back that lets in a little bit of light from the alley. Varanasi can be very hot, so the fan is always running at full speed. We spend our days here waiting for the local women to drop by. Many of them come after they finish their household chores or after dropping their kids at the school nearby. It is a quiet kind of place most of the time. We have a small stool for ourselves and a bench for anyone who is waiting. There is no big marketing or anything like that, just a small board outside with the name. We know the people in the neighborhood and they know us. It is just a small local business that has been part of Chandpur for some time. We just keep things simple and do our work every day without much noise. The street outside is narrow but it stays busy.
