Banaras Shoe Store

Our shop is tucked away at Ck 47/17 in Sarai Harha. It’s one of those narrow spots where you really have to know where you’re going. Banaras Shoe Store has been sitting here for years, and the shelves are pretty much packed from the floor to the ceiling. You walk in and you get that strong smell of new rubber and leather right away. We don’t have fancy lighting or those big mirrors you see in the malls. It’s just us and the boxes. Usually, people come in looking for something sturdy for work or maybe some simple sandals for the summer heat. We spend a lot of time climbing up the little ladder to find the right size tucked away in a corner. Sometimes the boxes get a bit mixed up, but we usually find what we’re looking for after a minute or two. The street outside is always crowded with people walking and carts going by, so it gets pretty loud. We keep a couple of plastic stools for people to sit on while they try things on. It’s not about being trendy; it’s about having shoes that actually fit and don't fall apart. We know most of the people who walk past our door. It’s a simple way to make a living, selling things that people actually need. We close up when the sun goes down and start again the next morning.
