Abhyuday Rural Microbenefit Foundation

Our foundation operates from the ground floor at B-31/41-A-6-S in Bhogabir, which is in the Lanka section of Varanasi, 221005. It’s a busy little corner of the city, and being on the ground floor means we see a lot of people passing by our door every single day. The office itself is not very large, but we’ve managed to fit in everything we need to keep things running. There are some wooden desks and a lot of metal shelves filled with files and registers that we’ve collected over time. We spend a good chunk of our day just updating these books and talking to people who drop in. The air in Varanasi can be quite humid, so we usually keep the door open to let a breeze in, even if it brings in some noise from the scooters outside. There are several small shops nearby where we go to get our lunch or a quick snack in the afternoon. It’s a very local atmosphere, and everyone in the building knows each other pretty well. We don't use any fancy language or have big meetings; we just sit down and do the work that needs to be done. The floors are made of simple stone, and we try to keep them swept, but with so much foot traffic, it’s a constant job. It’s a humble place to work, but it suits us just fine for the kind of stuff we do here. It's just us doing our part.
