We've been at 32/c in the first phase of GIDC for quite a while now. It's a busy spot, mostly machines running and people moving stuff around all day. The shop isn't fancy. There is grease on the floor and the walls could use a new coat of paint, but we get the work done. Usually, it's just a few of us here making sure orders go out on time. Some days are slower than others. We started small and stayed that way because it's easier to manage things when you know every corner of the place. If you come by, you'll probably hear the lathe machines or someone hammering away. It gets loud. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist. Usually, one of the guys just wipes their hands and comes to the door. We handle various industrial parts. It's dusty work, and our clothes show it by the end of the shift. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. We just keep our heads down and focus on the metal. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait, but that’s just how it goes in this part of the estate. We’ve known the neighbors for years. It’s not much, but it’s where we spend our days and earn our bread.
