Being located at A-1-322-22 in the 40 Shed Area means we’re right in the thick of the industrial action. It’s a practical location for a packaging business because we’re close to so many other manufacturers who need what we make. The space itself isn't much to look at from the outside. It’s a functional shed with high ceilings and a lot of floor space for materials. We spend a lot of our time measuring, cutting, and making sure things are sized right. It’s a hands-on kind of place. You won't find anyone wearing a suit here. We’re usually covered in a bit of dust or ink by the end of the shift. The machinery we use is reliable, but like anything, it needs its fair share of grease and attention. We’ve got a small area partitioned off for the paperwork, but most of the work happens out on the floor. It can get pretty loud when everything is running at once, so we’ve learned to talk over the noise. We’ve been in the 40 Shed Area for a while now and we know the rhythms of the place. The trucks come in the morning, the tea break is at four, and we head home when the job is finished. It’s a straightforward life, and we like the honesty of making something tangible every day. There are no fancy meetings, just honest labor and getting the boxes out.
