Our workshop is located at 136/6 in the II Phase of the Gidc area. This is where Abdul Gaffar Suddick Khatri operates. We mostly deal with traditional work, often involving fabrics and dyes, as that is what our family has done for a long time. The Gidc is a busy industrial zone, so there is always the sound of machinery and trucks in the background. Our unit is quite humble. We don't have air conditioning or fancy furniture. Instead, we have vats for dyeing and spaces to dry the cloth. It's messy work and our hands are often stained with different colors by the end of the day. That’s just how it is. We follow the methods we were taught, not because we’re trying to be trendy, but because they work. We don’t have a website or a sales team. People who want our work usually know where to find us in the II Phase or they call us directly. It’s a lot of physical labor, standing over the tubs and moving heavy wet fabric around. The heat from the boiling water makes the workshop quite warm, especially in the afternoons. We just take a break for tea and then get back to it. It’s an honest trade. We aren't a big factory, just a small operation keeping a tradition alive. Every piece we finish is done right here at the Gidc address. It's simple, hard work, and we're okay with that.
