Gujarat State Seeds Corporation

The Gujarat State Seeds Corporation has a presence here at Vankla MIDC. It’s a fairly straightforward setup where we handle the distribution and storage of various agricultural seeds. The building is a large warehouse style, which is necessary because we deal with a lot of bags and bulk shipments. Vankla is a bit out of the way, but it’s a good spot for the trucks to come in without getting stuck in town traffic. The office part is pretty basic, just some desks and a lot of paperwork regarding seed batches and testing. We spend a lot of time checking the inventory and making sure everything is labeled correctly. It’s not a place for retail customers to come and browse; it’s more of a hub for the local farming supply chain. The air inside can get a bit dusty from the grain, and it stays quite cool because of the high ceilings. We have a small staff who knows the seasons well, so things get really busy right before the planting starts. During the off-season, we're mostly just maintaining the equipment and cleaning the storage areas. It’s a lot of routine work, but it’s important for the growers in this part of the state. We don't really do much besides making sure the seeds move from one place to another.
