You can find us at Plot No 232 232/1 233 inside the Gidc Estate. We’ve got a lot of space here, which we need because the trucks we work on are pretty big. Vijay Fire Vehicles Pumps Ltd. is where we put together fire engines and the pumps that go on them. It’s a loud place with lots of welding and metal clanging around all day. Most of the guys here have grease on their hands by lunch. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby; you just walk in and find someone on the floor. It’s a bit messy with parts and tools scattered about, but we know where everything is. Building a fire truck takes time and a lot of bolting things together. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and the neighbors know us. Sometimes we’re out in the yard testing the pumps, so there’s water everywhere. It’s practical work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny building. We just want to make sure the vehicles we build actually work when someone needs them. It’s a long day usually, starting early and finishing when the light starts to go. It's just hard work and heavy lifting most of the time. We aren't big on meetings, we just look at the plans and start building the chassis. It is honest work and it keeps the whole team focused on the task at hand.
