Our place is at Plot No 2101 in the GIDC Estate. Being in such a large industrial area means there is always something going on around us. We have a lot of heavy equipment and cylinders at our site because that’s just the nature of what we do. The plot is fairly large, which is good because we need the space for the trucks to turn around without hitting anything. We spend a lot of time outdoors on the concrete pad checking the gauges and making sure the valves are all shut tight. It is serious work and we don't spend much time sitting around. The sun can be quite brutal out on the plot, so we try to get the heavy loading done early in the morning before it gets too hot. Our office is just a small room at the front where we keep the logs and the phone. It’s mostly just us and a few workers who have been here for years. We know the sounds of the machines so well that we can tell if something is slightly off just by listening while we drink our morning tea. It's a steady life in the GIDC, focusing on the day-to-day tasks and making sure everything runs without a hitch. We just take it one day at a time here. Every now and then, the power fluctuates and we have to reset the compressor, but that is part of the job and we don't let it bother us.
