Northern India Engg. Work

Northern India Engg. Work is located at Plot No. 730 in the 40 Shed Area of GIDC. It’s a pretty standard engineering shop with grease on the walls and metal shavings all over the floor. We do a lot of machining and repair work, so there’s always the sound of a lathe running or someone hammering on a piece of steel. The 40 Shed Area is quite packed, so parking a vehicle can be a nightmare most mornings. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby; you just walk in through the big metal doors and find someone who isn't too busy to talk. The lighting isn't the best, but we know where the tools are. Some of our machines have been with us since the beginning, and they require a bit of coaxing to stay running right. It’s a place where we solve practical problems with our hands. We aren't worried about looking professional in suits; we’re usually in overalls that have seen better days. When a customer brings in a broken part, we take a look and see what we can do to weld it or turn a new piece. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for years. It’s noisy, it’s dirty, and it’s exactly how an engineering workshop should be. We just get the jobs finished and move on to the next one. It works for us.
