Kunal Conchem Pvt. Ltd. is located right here at Plot No 3104 and 3106 in the Gidc Estate. If you know this area, you know it’s mostly just industrial sheds and lots of dust. We spend our days dealing with chemicals and construction materials that arrive in big bags or drums. The floor is usually covered in some kind of powder and everyone wears boots because it’s a bit messy. It’s a practical place where we mix things and check the quality before it goes out to a site. We have some desks in the corner for the paperwork but most of the action happens in the back where the stock is kept. It gets quite hot under the tin roof during the middle of the day so we drink a lot of chai to keep going. The trucks pull up right to the gates and we spend half our time making sure the loading is done right so nothing leaks. It’s not a quiet office where people sit in suits. We are usually covered in some bit of dust or checking the labels on the containers. Being in the GIDC means we are surrounded by other factories doing the same kind of hard work. We just focus on getting the mixtures right and making sure the orders are ready when the drivers show up. It is honest, heavy work for everyone involved here in the estate.
