Siddhi Saw Mill

We are located out on the Karvad Degam Road at Survey No. 710-711. If you're coming this way, we're near the Tambadi area. Being a saw mill, there is always the smell of fresh wood and sawdust in the air. It’s a very physical job, moving logs around and feeding them into the saws. The noise is quite something when the big blades are cutting through the timber. We have piles of wood stacked up all over the yard, some drying out and some ready to be picked up. The ground is usually covered in wood shavings, which we have to sweep up every now and then. It’s a simple life out here on the road. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just the saws and our hands. The weather really affects us; if it’s too wet, it’s hard to work with the wood, and if it’s too hot, the dust gets everywhere. We’ve been here at this spot for a long time, and we know most of the people who live and work around Karvad. We just focus on cutting the wood to the right size and helping the customers who stop by. Sometimes the logs are so big we need everyone to help move them into place. It’s hard on the back, but we’re used to it. If someone needs wood, they just drive down the road and look for the piles.
