Gravicast Industries is tucked away at C1-6103/D in the 4th Phase of Gidc. If you are familiar with the Gidc area, you already know it is mostly just long rows of industrial sheds and small workshops. It gets incredibly hot in the afternoons, especially when all the machinery is running at the same time. The air inside always feels a bit thick with the smell of the foundry and cooling metal. We spend our time working with molds and heavy materials. It is physically demanding work. Most of us wear our older clothes to the shop because they are just going to get covered in grease and dust anyway. The floor is made of thick concrete and has a few deep cracks from where heavy items were dropped over the decades. There is no fancy lobby or reception area here. You just walk straight in through the main metal door and you are right in the middle of the production floor. We keep a paper calendar on the wall that sometimes does not get flipped to the next month for weeks. We often lose track of the date when there is a large order that needs to be finished. The 4th Phase is a bit of a drive from the main highway, so it stays a little quieter than the other sections. We have a small sink in the back for washing up before we head home. The water is almost always cold. This is just the work we do.
