Vishwakarma Engineering Works

Our workshop, Vishwakarma Engineering Works, is located at Plot No. L/1408/5 in the GIDC. It is one of those places where you can hear the grinding from the street. We have been working out of this plot for a long time. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze with all the equipment we have packed in there. We don't have a big sign or anything. Most people just know where we are. We handle a lot of small repairs and custom parts that people bring by. Sometimes it feels like we are constantly moving things around to make space for a new job. The lighting isn't the best in the back corner, but we know where everything is kept. It’s mostly just us and the tools. We don't do much talking; we just get on with it. On rainy days, the water pools a bit near the entrance, so we have to watch our step. We use old-school methods mostly because that’s what we learned. It works for us and the people who come to see us. It’s a basic operation. No corporate stuff, just a lot of manual labor and trying to get the dimensions right. We usually close up once the sun goes down. If the door is open, we are working.
