We’re over on Silvassa Road at Plot No. 336-A in the Lic Sector, Phase-2. This is where Vikas Road Carriers Ltd. operates from. It’s mostly a lot of phone calls and paperwork, tracking where the trucks are and when they’ll be back. The yard has a lot of gravel and gets muddy when it rains, but there is plenty of room for the big rigs to turn around. We have a small office that’s basically a converted container with an air conditioner that rattles too much. It’s loud because of the traffic on Silvassa Road, but we’re used to it. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. Our business comes from the same few companies we’ve been working with for years. The drivers come in and out at all hours, so someone is usually here brewing tea or checking logs. It’s not the kind of job where you sit at a desk and look at a clean screen all day. There’s always grease, dust, and the smell of diesel in the air. We don't try to sound like a big corporation because we aren't one. We just make sure the goods get from one place to another without getting lost. It’s a lot of long hours, but it’s what we know how to do. Some days are stressful when a truck breaks down, but we figure it out. That is just the transport life.
