We are over at 120/1 in the 3rd Phase of GIDC in Vapi. Venkteshwar Filaments is basically a factory setup. It's not a place for a quiet chat because the machines are usually running. We make filaments, which means there is a lot of thread and plastic around. The heat in Vapi is no joke, especially in the industrial zones, so the fans are always on full blast. Our office is just a small partitioned space near the main floor so we can keep an eye on things. We have a few guys who have been with us since we started. The floor can be a bit slippery with the materials, and there is always a specific smell of production in the air. We don't do much in terms of fancy marketing or brochures. People in the trade know where we are. We ship things out in big rolls and spend a lot of time checking the weight and quality. It’s repetitive work but it needs to be done right. The roads around the 3rd Phase are full of potholes during the monsoon, which makes shipping a bit of a headache. We just deal with it and keep the production going. It’s a simple life, focused on the machines and the output. Some days we stay late to finish a big batch, but that is just part of being in the manufacturing business in Gujarat.
