Our business, Vapi Oxide Colours, is located at Plot No. 794 and the surrounding sections like 794/1/A and B in GIDC, Vapi. We work with oxides and various color pigments here. It’s a bit of a messy job because the powders get everywhere if you aren't careful. We have been in Vapi for quite some time now and it’s a good place for this kind of industry. The work involves a lot of grinding and mixing to get the right shade for our customers. You can usually tell what we’ve been making by looking at our clothes at the end of the shift. We have several sections of the plot to handle different parts of the process. It’s a big space but we use every bit of it. We don’t really do much advertising, most people find us because they need specific colors for construction or other industrial uses. The climate in Gujarat can be quite dry, which actually helps with handling some of the powders. We have a small team and everyone knows their job well. It's not a corporate office with suits; we are usually in our work gear getting our hands dirty. We just try to make a decent product that does what it’s supposed to do. If you head down to the GIDC area, you’ll find us there among the other factories. It’s just regular folks doing a day’s work in the middle of Vapi.
