Timber Technique is located over at Plot No. 2619/3 in Phase-III of the GIDC. If you walk inside, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of cut wood and the sound of the saws. There’s sawdust on almost every surface, no matter how much we clean. We work with all kinds of timber here. Sometimes it’s big planks and other times it’s smaller pieces for detailed work. We have a few heavy machines that have been with us for years. They aren't the newest models, but they cut straight and that’s what matters. We spend our days measuring, cutting, and stacking. It’s a very physical job and your back definitely feels it by the time evening rolls around. We don’t have a showroom with bright lights. Most people just come to the workshop to see the wood for themselves. We’ve got piles of different types of timber in the back. It’s a bit unorganized at times, especially when a big shipment comes in. We just find a spot and keep working. The neighbors in Phase-III are mostly into engineering, so we’re one of the few places dealing with wood around here. We just focus on getting the cuts right and making sure the pieces are ready for whoever ordered them. It's simple work but it keeps us busy throughout the week. We try to keep the place swept, but wood dust always finds a way back.
