We are located in the GIDC area, specifically at units 1301 and 1302. It’s a heavy industrial zone, so there is always the sound of metal clanging or machines whirring in the background. Our sheds are big and have high ceilings to try and catch whatever breeze comes through. It gets incredibly hot in the summer, especially with the work we do. We aren't big on decorations here. The walls are stained with oil and there’s metal scrap piled in the corners. We’ve got a small office section partitioned off with some thin plywood where we keep the ledger books and the phone. Most of our day is spent out on the shop floor, though. The ground is often covered in fine metal dust, so we wear thick boots all day. We have a ritual of getting tea from the cart that comes around at ten in the morning and four in the afternoon. It’s a rough-and-ready kind of place. We don't worry about looking polished for visitors because we don't get many anyway. Usually, it's just delivery drivers or the guys from the nearby units dropping by to borrow a tool or have a quick chat about the local news. It’s a hard-working environment, and we’ve been part of this GIDC landscape for many years now. We just focus on the craft and keep the machines running as best as we can.
