Shailesh Arts

You can find Shailesh Arts over at the Sajita Complex, right near the Dena Bank in the GIDC area. We are in Shop No. 09-11, so we have a bit of a wider space than some of the other shops around us. Being in the GIDC means we are surrounded by all sorts of small factories and workshops, so there is always a lot of activity on the street. Inside, the shop is usually filled with the smell of paint or whatever materials we are using that day for our projects. We have various tools and benches set up for our work. It’s not a polished gallery or anything like that; it’s a working studio where things get a bit messy with scraps and markers. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the different counters and working on various jobs. The lighting isn't the best in the back, so we have added a few extra lamps over the years to help us see better. Most of the people who stop by are from the nearby businesses or people who have known us for years. We usually have a small radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet while we work. On hot days, we leave the front door open to get a bit of a breeze, even if it brings in some of the dust from the road. It’s a simple life in the shop, just making things and keeping busy until night.
