Rajputana Umbrella Industry

Our factory, Rajputana Umbrella Industry, is located at A2-259/2 in the GIDC area. We are right across the road from Himalaya Industries, so that’s usually how people find us if they get lost. Making umbrellas is what we do, and we’ve been doing it at this spot for quite a while. It’s a lot of cutting fabric and fixing ribs together. The GIDC is a busy place, and there’s always something going on outside our doors. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of sewing machines and people talking. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. We just have a lot of boxes and material stacked up. When the monsoon season is coming, things get really hectic around here. We have to work longer hours to make sure we have enough stock ready. But we don't mind it much. It feels good to be busy. We aren't a corporate giant; we are just a local industry trying to make something useful. Some of the workers have been with us for years, and we’re like a small family. We eat our lunch together and complain about the heat like everyone else. If you ever need to find us, just look for the GIDC address opposite the big Himalaya plant. We’ll be inside, probably surrounded by colorful fabric and metal frames, just getting the work done one umbrella at a time. It’s tough work, but it’s what we know how to do best.
