Our shop is located right there in the D. K Shopping Complex at the Char Rasta area in Vapi. It’s a very busy spot, especially with all the GIDC traffic and trucks going past the door every single day. We handle a lot of electrical stuff, mostly doing repairs and helping out the local industrial units with their internal wiring or electric motors. Our office is at C5-45, and it’s usually full of various wires and tools scattered across the workbenches. It’s definitely not the neatest place you’ve ever seen, but we know exactly where every tool is located. Being in the commercial zone means there’s always someone dropping by with a broken part or asking for a quick fix on a motor. We spend a lot of our time out at different factory sites too, because electrical things always seem to break at the worst possible time. Vapi is heavily industrial, so there is never really a shortage of work for people who know how to handle high voltage. Sometimes the heavy monsoon rains make things a bit tricky with the roof leaks, but we manage to get by. We’ve been at Plot No. 1-2 for quite some time now. It’s a small team of us, just a few guys who grew up around this area and learned the trade. We drink a lot of tea while we are waiting for specialized parts to arrive from the city. It’s a decent living, even if the work is greasy and the heat can be a lot sometimes.
