Raj Chatons

Our little workshop is tucked away in the GIDC at Shed No. C-1 /B/262/1. It’s not the easiest address to tell people over the phone, but we’ve been here long enough that most local transporters know the way. We work on chatons here, which means we’re dealing with small, detailed pieces. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work compared to some of the heavier industries around us. The GIDC can be a loud and dusty place, but inside our shed, we try to keep things a bit more organized so we don't lose any of the small components. We don’t have a big corporate office or a team of sales reps. It’s just a few of us making sure the production stays steady. The lighting is really important for what we do, so we have extra lamps over the benches. It’s a simple life. We start early, have our tea breaks, and keep working until the evening. The estate has its ups and downs, like the occasional power cut or the road repairs that never seem to finish. We don't really have a philosophy or anything fancy. We just make the chatons and get them ready for whoever ordered them. It’s a small-scale operation, and we like it that way. No one’s wearing a tie here. We just focus on the small things and get through the day.
