Olympic Chemicals

Our place is at C1b/2903 in the 4th Phase of the GIDC in Vapi. If you have been to this part of Gujarat, you know it is full of factories and warehouses everywhere you look. We operate out of a basic building that has seen better days. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to get around to it. Inside, there is always the faint smell of whatever chemicals we are handling that week. It is just part of the job. We have a small staff who have been with us for a long time. The floor is often wet from cleaning, and there are barrels stacked up in the loading area. Dealing with the heat in Vapi is tough, especially in May. The ceiling fans just push the warm air around, but we manage. Every morning, the first thing we do is check the stock and see what the trucks brought in overnight. There is a lot of paperwork involved in this business, so the office table is usually a mess of invoices and delivery notes. We do not have a fancy reception area. If someone comes by, they usually just walk right into the main area and find one of us. It is a practical setup. We stay focused on the containers and the mixing vats. Lunch is usually a quick affair brought from home. By the end of the shift, everyone is ready to head back to their families.
