Down at Plot No. 1935 in the GIDC area, you’ll hear the noise before you see the door. M K Textile is where we spend most of our waking hours. The second phase can get pretty crowded with traffic, but we’ve gotten used to it. Inside, it's all about the fabric. We have rows of machines that keep a steady rhythm all day long. It's not the quietest place to work, but we like the hum of it. We deal with various types of cloth, and there’s lint everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. The staff here is like a small family; we eat lunch together in the corner where it’s a bit quieter. We aren't some big corporate entity with layers of management. If there’s a problem, we just talk it out right there on the floor. Plot No. 1935 has been our home base for a long time. People around GIDC know they can find us here. We don't use much fancy talk or marketing. We just make the textiles and send them out. Sometimes the orders are small, sometimes they take us all week to finish. It keeps us on our toes. We’ve learned a lot about how different threads behave under heat. It’s just what we do. We show up, run the machines, and try to do a decent job every single day. We've seen many businesses come and go in this part of the industrial estate, but we've managed to stick around through the good times and the quiet ones too.
