We operate out of an L-type shed in the 4th Phase of GIDC in Vapi. It’s right near Golden Chemical, and the whole area is just one factory after another. At Devender Plastic Chemicals Equipments, the environment is very industrial. There’s always the smell of plastic or chemicals in the air, and the sound of machines running next door is constant. Our shed is 6129/6, and it’s basically where we do everything from storage to minor repairs. It’s not a clean office with carpets. We have concrete floors that are stained with oil and chemicals. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving stuff around or checking the equipment. The Gujarat heat in Vapi is no joke, especially inside a metal shed, so we drink a lot of water and keep the big doors open for whatever breeze we can get. We don’t have any fancy titles here. Everyone just chips in with whatever needs doing, whether it’s loading a truck or fixing a valve. It’s a practical, gritty kind of life. We don’t bother with much paperwork beyond what’s necessary for the tax man and the customers. People come to us because they know where to find us in the GIDC. It’s a tough environment but it’s what we know. We just focus on the equipment and getting the orders out on time without much fuss.
