D S Modular is located at 602/4 in the III Phase of the GIDC. Working in an industrial zone like this means you are always surrounded by the sounds of manufacturing. Our unit is a practical space where we handle all our modular work. The floor is usually covered in bits of material and the air has that specific smell of a factory. We have a few big machines that take up most of the room, and the rest of the space is used for storing the parts we’ve finished. It’s not a place for a suit and tie; most of us are in work clothes and have a bit of dust on us by the end of the shift. The GIDC III Phase is a big area, and it can be easy to get lost among all the different blocks, but we’ve been at this address long enough that most local drivers know where we are. We don't have a fancy showroom to display our stuff. If someone wants to see what we do, they usually just come right onto the shop floor. It’s loud and busy, but that’s how we like it. We focus on the building part of the business and don't worry too much about the rest. Most days involve a lot of measuring, cutting, and checking pieces to make sure they fit together like they should. It’s honest work that keeps us on our feet.
