About Central Chemical Industries – Metals & Minerals in Valsad
Our place is spread across several plots, from 2929 to 2935-A, over in the J type section of Phase 1 here in Vapi. Having all that space is helpful because things can get pretty cramped when you’re dealing with industrial chemicals. The gates are usually open by eight, and the first thing I do is walk the perimeter to make sure the tanks and drums are all sitting right. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always noise from the neighboring units and the sound of machinery. We’ve got a small office building on-site where the paperwork gets handled. It’s nothing fancy, just some desks, a few filing cabinets, and a calendar that’s usually a month behind. The workers are mostly locals who know the machines inside and out. We spend a lot of time monitoring the gauges and making sure everything is running steady. Lunch is usually eaten together in the shade of the main shed. It can get really hot under the tin roof in the summer, so we drink a lot of water and try to stay productive. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t spend money on big signs or flashy entrances. Most people find us because they’ve been coming here for years or they saw the plot numbers from the road. It’s just us, the chemicals, and the daily grind of keeping the industry moving.
