At Plot No. 909 in the III Phase of the GIDC, you will find Bhavesh Silk Industries Pvt Ltd. We’ve been part of the textile scene here for quite some time. The building is a bit older, and it has that solid feel of a place that’s seen a lot of work go through its doors. Working with silk and fabric is different than other industries because you have to be careful with the material. It can be delicate, but the machines we use are heavy and loud. It’s a strange mix of things. The light in the factory isn't always the best, but we know where everything is by touch now. We spend most of our time checking the looms and making sure the threads aren't snapping. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and watching the patterns come together. We aren't a huge outfit with hundreds of employees, just a dedicated group of people who understand how fabric is made. There’s usually a lot of lint in the air and stacks of finished cloth waiting to be moved out. The GIDC roads are always a bit bumpy, which makes the truck drivers complain, but we just laugh it off. It’s a steady life, and we like the feeling of finishing a roll of silk and seeing it ready for the market. We just keep our heads down and work.
