Our spot is at Plot No. 3107 on Road No. 31 in the Gidc Estate. It is a long road with a lot of similar looking gates. We have some big plastic drums sitting out front most of the time. The air inside has a sharp, clean smell to it, almost like soap but stronger. We spend a lot of time stirring things and checking the levels in the tanks. It's a lot of waiting for things to mix properly. We wear rubber boots because the floor gets wet sometimes when we wash the equipment down. There are a lot of pipes running along the ceiling. We painted them different colors years ago so we could remember what goes where. The paint is peeling now, but we still know. It's not a place where you want to wear your nice clothes. Most of us have old shirts that are stained with who knows what. We have a small break room with a leaky tap, but the water is cold, which is all that matters. Usually, we just talk about the cricket scores or the local news while we wait for the batches to finish. It is steady work, and it keeps us busy enough throughout the year. We don't need much else besides a bit of shade and some work to do.
