G. M. Knitting Industries Pvt. Ltd. has a fairly large setup over here on Road No. 9. Our plots cover 912, 914, 916, 918, and 919, which is quite a stretch of land in the Gidc Estate near the Nargogal Char Rasta. Since we have five plots, there is a lot of walking back and forth between the different sections of the building all day long. The knitting machines make a very specific clicking and whirring sound that fills up the whole space from the morning until we shut down at night. We have rows and rows of yarn cones sitting everywhere you look. It can get a bit warm inside when all the motors are running, so we try to keep the big shutters open most of the time to let a breeze in. The Nargogal Char Rasta is always jammed with traffic and people, so we hear a lot of horns and trucks passing by while we are working. It is a very busy corner of the estate. We have a team of people who have been with us for a long time, so everyone knows exactly what to do. We do not have much in the way of decoration, just some old calendars on the walls and the maintenance logs for the machines. It is a practical place built for work. Sometimes the thread gets all over your clothes, but that is just part of it.
